Camp Rockville

Obedience training is a must with weimaraners. Owners must be careful to train their puppies early or else the dog will begin training them. Weimaraners are an extremely intelligent and energetic breed. This combination if not controlled at an early age can cause a lot of havoc in a household. To create obedient adult dogs, training is included when you get a Rockville puppy. Developing basic obedience at the puppy stage will ensure a well-trained dog and happy owners.

Weimaraners are well known for their strong hunting instincts. They enjoy working the field and locating upland game birds with their owners.  Rockville puppies are exposed birds at a month old to reinforce their natural prey drive and develop their bird locating skills. Training days at Camp Rockville include fieldwork, tracking, and exposure to gunfire to assist owners in developing the ultimate hunting dog.  Training sessions are open to all of our dogs and dates can be found on our calendar page.

There isn’t much that you can’t do with this versatile breed and one of their favorite activities is agility.  If you are looking at a fun way to teach your weimaraner obedience while burning off some of their energy, agility is your answer.  Set up like a playground for dogs, Camp Rockville has its own course for you to begin running agility with your weimaraner.  To further develop your dog for competing in this sport, classes are available for beginners and advanced agility dogs.

If the show is where you dream of showing off your beautiful weimaraner then Camp Rockville can get you moving in the right direction.  Puppies are stacked at an early age during their meals to get them used to showing. Special attention is given to each puppy to prepare them for all aspects of the show ring and earning their confirmation championship. If you have any questions about any of these activities that you may want to participate in please feel free to contact us.
